Current Position: Home > IP News > "Ibuprofen" was not only snapped up but also snapped up?

After the opening of the epidemic prevention policy, "little yang people" can be seen everywhere. The hot topic is not yang, but on the way to become yang.

Fever, body aches and pains, the urgent need for ibuprofen antipyretic analgesic, but found that drugs have been snapped up! Even a thousand gold is hard to get.

Why is it difficult to get a bottle of scalper for 1000 yuan

Ibuprofen is not only used for adults, but also for children.

Merrill Lynch is a fever reducing drug owned by Johnson&Johnson. According to the needs of children of different ages, Merrill Lynch has different specifications of suspension and drops. Illegal people began to use their parents' anxiety to sell drugs at high prices.

Some netizens reported that a few days ago, someone peddled children's antipyretic drugs at the gate of Tianjin Children's Hospital and other top three hospitals. Merrill Lynch, which usually costs about 20 yuan, was sold at a high price of 2500 yuan or even more than 3000 yuan. Another consumer revealed on the social networking platform that Merrill Lynch in Fushun sold for 600 yuan a bottle.

"As an old drug, ibuprofen has no technical and production problems, and its production capacity will be improved soon," said a domestic ibuprofen drug manufacturer.

One data is that the number of registered approvals for ibuprofen obtained by domestic enterprises reached 558, covering ibuprofen tablets, ibuprofen soft capsules, ibuprofen sustained-release capsules, ibuprofen granules and many other dosage forms.

At the same time, as a major producer and exporter of ibuprofen APIs in the world, China accounts for 1/3 of the global production capacity, producing more than 50% of ibuprofen APIs and more than 40% of para B APIs in the world. The production capacity of Xinhua Pharmaceutical and Hendy Pharmaceutical, the domestic leading enterprises of API, reached 8000 tons/year and 3500 tons/year respectively.

From the perspective of raw materials and production side, the supply of ibuprofen seems to be no problem. Then why is it difficult to get a drug at the terminal?

In the opinion of the above ibuprofen drug manufacturers, irrational drug hoarding is an important factor causing drug shortage. It is understood that since the middle of November, some consumers have been hoarding drugs and sharing the list of drug hoarding on social platforms.

Netizens reported that a tourist practitioner in Xinjiang sold out ibuprofen in a pharmacy, including 15 bottles of Merrill Lynch. There is also a "post-90s" parent who listed drugs on the Internet. The parent spent more than 1500 yuan and went to four pharmacies to buy more than 47 boxes of loquat syrup, ibuprofen, anti-inflammatory cough tablets and other kinds of drugs.

"The drug shortage was caused by a combination of factors such as excessive hoarding, insufficient reserves and capacity constraints in early December, and logistics distribution in mid December," said a drug retail practitioner, "It is expected that the shortage will be superimposed and the procurement will be concentrated, so not all manufacturers will be able to fully supply in a short period of time. Secondly, many manufacturers have the approval of ibuprofen, which will occupy the production capacity of other drugs and give priority to supply, which requires deployment, and the 10 day gap period is normal."

As far as the pharmacy terminal is concerned, according to the above drug retail practitioners, most small and medium-sized chain drugstores normally take drugs from distributors to stores once a week. "It is also a problem that the logistics supply cannot meet the requirements of fast sales. With concentrated demand, it is difficult to keep up with fast sales."

Ibuprofen is a bulk bulk drug. China accounts for a large proportion of the world's production capacity, reaching 10,000 tons. There are no technical difficulties in production. Just to improve the production capacity in a short period of time, the plant needs to invest in equipment and manpower, both of which need time to solve.

Side effects that can not be ignored by drug hoarding

As the saying goes: It is a drug that is toxic.

If you take medicine carelessly or do not pay attention to the steps and precautions, it is bound to cause adverse reactions.

Recently, the news of liver problems caused by excessive or mixed use of cold medicines has been endless, especially the hottest ibuprofen snatched this time.

Ibuprofen is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, which has a very good treatment and improvement effect on dysmenorrhea, migraine, toothache, arthralgia, neuralgia and fever.

The ingredients of ibuprofen include stearic acid, sugar, starch and polyvinylpyrrolidone, which can play an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic role.

Once the phenomenon of overdose of ibuprofen occurs, it will cause a series of stomach discomfort, such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

In severe cases, it may even induce gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer and gastrointestinal bleeding.

In addition, the components in ibuprofen can cause water and sodium retention.

For patients with hypertension, taking ibuprofen is very likely to cause repeated increases in blood pressure and damage to the kidney and liver.

Therefore, it is enough to properly prepare some cold antipyretic drugs. A large amount of hoarding may not only cause waste, but also create tension in the pharmaceutical market artificially.

Especially at this stage, the replenishment of pharmaceutical enterprises will take some time, and a large number of drugs will be snapped up in the society, which will further aggravate the shortage of some drugs. Therefore, it is necessary to purchase drugs rationally and use drugs scientifically.

Ibuprofen was not only snapped up, but also snapped up

According to online data, there are more than 900 patent applications related to ibuprofen in China, among which, more than 9 are invention patents; More than 350 items have been authorized.

From the time of application, the relevant patent was first applied in 1988. The patent of "Preparation of Ibuprofen Tablets with High Bioavailability" applied for by Shandong Xinhua Pharmaceutical Factory has been shown to be invalid.

In 2012, there were 88 related patent applications, the highest ever.

Up to now, 71 related patents have been applied for in 2022, of which 35 have been authorized.

In addition, "ibuprofen", "ibuprofen BUROVEN", "ibuprofen mebeline" and other trademarks have also been registered. The international classification includes chemical raw materials, daily chemical products, medical devices, etc. These trademarks were first applied for in 2011, of which more than ten have been registered.

However, the word "ibuprofen" is not a trademark of drugs, but a generic name of drugs, mainly for antipyretic and analgesic. Therefore, Class 5 drugs cannot be registered because the Trademark Law prohibits the generic name of the industry from being used as a registered trademark.

The Trademark Law also clearly stipulates that "the application for registration and use of trademarks shall follow the principle of good faith", and "it is not allowed to preemptively register trademarks that have been used by others and have certain influence by improper means".

That is to say, "malicious preemptive registration" does not apply to the principle of "prior rights", and it is an act prohibited by law.

In fact, in recent years, there have been a lot of malicious squatting of well-known trademarks, trade names and celebrity names at home and abroad in China. After successful squatting, malicious squatters will leave trademarks idle for sale. Some even hoard hundreds to thousands of trademarks, and these trademarks have become a way for some enterprises or individuals to make money.

Therefore, the State Intellectual Property Office and other departments have also increased the punishment, and punished some individuals or agents who illegally registered trademarks.

In addition, the rush registration of epidemic related trademarks will not only face the risk of being punished, but also may be disliked by the public, so it is not worth the loss for the applicant.

In a word, it is absolutely undesirable to register trademarks maliciously!
