Professor Cai Jian is now a professor of management practice at Guanghua School of management, Beijing University and founding executive director of Innovation Research Institute, Beijing University (2008-2014). China director of the global agenda meeting of the World Economic Forum (2014-2016). Founder of value Internet Innovation Institute via, executive member of tie scientist of Tsinghua holdings, founder of Taiqing innovation and consultant of Hong Kong Intellectual Property Exchange.

Executive director of China Soft Science Research Association, national e-government expert committee, information economy expert committee of the Ministry of industry and information technology. He has successively served as the doctoral director of management science and engineering of Beijing University and the backbone of Java R & D of Sun company in Silicon Valley.

He served as chief scientist of national 863 major science and technology project team of Beijing University, senior consultant and director of Internet Research Institute of Tsinghua University, world top 500 enterprises and institutions, and mentor of China Entrepreneur Club. He initiated the value Internet, cooperated with the core patents of AI and talent finance, developed intelligent talent technology, java2ee technical standard, and wrote 12 monographs such as collaborative innovation theory and from Chinese price to Chinese value. He received a doctor's degree and a double master's degree from the University of Southern California and a bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University
