In terms of 5g technology, Chinese companies have changed from followers to leaders. 5g patents account for the first place in the world. From mobile terminals to device manufacturers, they have strong competitive power.

Japan lags behind China in 5g. Now they focus on the future 6G network. Japanese media reported that Japan's industry team "beyond 5g promotion alliance" will soon sign a cooperation agreement with Finland's "6G flagship plan". It is expected that the cooperation on 6G will be officially announced at the global digital Summit on the 8th.

Finland is chosen because Nokia, the global telecom giant, is headquartered in Finland and will participate in Japan's 6G plan. Japanese manufacturers include Tokyo University and major Japanese telecom operators, including Japan Telecom telephone, NTT DoCoMo, KDDI, software bank and Lotte Telecom.

Japan's beyond 5g promotion alliance is expected to commercialize 6G by 2030.

In addition to betting on Finland and Nokia, Japan will also enter into cooperation with American companies. In April, Japan announced cooperation agreements with Cisco, Intel and other companies, which will invest US $4.5 billion in research and development of new generation communication technology.

Japan hopes that in the 6G era, the share of Japanese enterprises in 6G patents will be increased to at least 10%, and the market share of equipment and software will be 30%.

In the 5g era, NTT DoCoMo, Japan's largest telecom company, holds only 6% of the patents, which is significantly lower than the 10% of Qualcomm and Huawei.
